Transparency
At BITTER BUTTER, transparency is the foundation of our craft. We believe in being open about our process, our origins, and our journey toward a more intentional future.
Mindful Materials
We source high-quality natural fibers from Nepal and India. Currently, our collections are crafted from Hemp and Cotton sourced from trusted partners in India, chosen for their durability and natural texture. As we grow, we are committed to expanding our use of locally grown Nepali fibers to further support our regional heritage and environment.
The Art of Herbal Dyeing
Our colors are derived entirely from nature, roots, barks, and leaves. By utilizing plant-based dyes, we eliminate the toxic chemical runoff associated with synthetic fashion, ensuring our production process respects the environment and the artisans who handle the fabrics.
Local Craftsmanship
Our garments are produced in small, intentional batches in Kathmandu, Nepal. We work closely with local workshop partners to ensure fair wages and a "slow" production pace that prioritizes craftsmanship over speed.
Traceability & Data
We are currently building a digital-first supply chain. By moving away from paper-based tracking, we are preparing to provide detailed data on every stage of production, from the raw material source to the final stitch, meeting the highest international standards for accountability and the EU’s Digital Product Passport requirements.
